How to Play Tod-Phod
Jugaad demolition contractor. Plant dynamite, drop the building clean.
Tod-Phod makes you a jugaad demolition contractor. Each level is a building of point-mass trusses standing on a street with plot lines painted on the ground. You tap joints to place dynamite, two or three charges depending on the contract, then detonate. The blast severs joints near each charge, and the direction the building falls depends on where your charges sit relative to its centre. Symmetric base charges pancake it; one-sided charges topple it that way.
Score is the percentage of rubble inside the plot, minus fines for every piece that hits a neighbour: a cow, a chai stall, parked scooters, a wedding tent or a crowd. Twenty hand-built levels run from a four-floor First Job to the nine-floor Impossible Job, with narrowing plots, hazards on both sides and tighter charge limits. Stars unlock the next site and pay coins.
Controls
- Tap a joint on the building to place a charge; tap a charge to remove it.
- Tap Detonate once at least one charge is set.
- The +Charge button grants one extra stick after a short ad.
- The bulb button reveals the pro charge spots for the level.
How to play, step by step
- Pick a level and read its brief, for example Cut both base corners, drop it flat.
- Note the plot lines and where hazards sit outside them.
- Place charges on the bottom non-foundation row: both corners for a straight drop, one corner to topple that way.
- Check the lean indicator, which shows which way your charge set is biased.
- Detonate, wait for the dust, and read the result: percentage in plot, fines, charges used and stars.
- One star unlocks the next site; come back for three-star runs.
Rules and scoring
- Charge limit per level is 2 or 3. Constraints within 54 units of a charge sever and the foundation there unpins.
- Collapse direction comes from the average charge position versus the building centre.
- Fines per strike: chai stall 8, cow 10, scooters 7, tent 9, crowd 11. Excessive damage means Fined Out with zero stars.
- Star thresholds fall from about 45, 70 and 88 percent early to 36, 56 and 76 on the Impossible Job. Coins on improvement only: 20 for one star, 35 total for two, 55 for three.
Tips to score higher
- Base charges only. A high charge blows the top off and leaves a leaning stump that spreads rubble.
- For a pancake, mirror charges exactly on the same row; any asymmetry becomes lean.
- With a hazard on one side, topple away from it even if the plot is centred.
- Tall towers like The Needle fall harder; use the full allowance so the base folds instead of tipping.
- If the lean indicator points at a hazard, move one charge inward before firing.
- Use the bulb on a passed level to learn the pro spots, then copy them for three stars.
Modes and challenges
- 20 fixed levels from First Job to Impossible Job, unlocked in order by earning a star.
- Three-star ratings with a 60-star tracker on the home screen.
- Ad-based +1 charge, continue with a bonus charge after a fail, and share after two or more stars.
Frequently asked questions
Why did it fall sideways?
Your charges were not symmetric about the centre. Place them on mirrored joints of the same row and check the lean indicator before detonating.
What does Fined Out mean?
Too much rubble hit neighbours and the fines cancelled the contract. The level scores zero stars; retry with charges biased away from the hazard.
Do I need three stars to progress?
No. One star unlocks the next site. Three stars are for coins and bragging rights.
Can I use extra charges?
One extra via ad, either with +Charge before detonating or by continuing after a fail. The base limit is 2 or 3 per level.
