How to Play Tarazu
Balance the sabzi-mandi weights on a swinging scale. One slip and it tips.
Tarazu is a balance puzzle built on real beam physics. A numbered weight hangs above a five-lane scale, two lanes each side of the pivot plus the centre. Aim a lane, drop, and the beam swings by value times distance. Keep the tilt small and play continues; pass 40 degrees and the tarazu topples. The theme is a sabzi mandi with brass weights, but the maths underneath is torque.
The clever part is cancelling. Drop a weight whose torque matches the top weight on the opposite side and both pop, scoring points and keeping the beam light. Exact matches pay double, chains raise a multiplier to 4x, and a rare gold weight clears a whole side. Every 20 drops the speed level rises, and from Level 2 a drop timer forces you to commit.
Controls
- Touch: drag left or right to move the aim across the five lanes, release to drop.
- Desktop: Left and Right Arrows move the aim; Space or Enter drops.
- The ghost weight previews the landing spot and beam tilt before you commit.
- A lane glows when the current weight can cancel something on the other side.
How to play, step by step
- Tap Balance It. The first weight appears with its value.
- Choose a lane. Outer lanes apply double the torque of inner lanes; the centre adds none.
- Check the ghost tilt and release while the beam stays under 25 degrees.
- To cancel, drop where value times distance matches the top weight opposite. Both vanish and you score.
- Chain cancels to raise the multiplier. From Level 2 an expired timer drops the weight on your current aim.
- Survive as long as possible. Past 25 degrees the low side sheds weights; at 40 it topples.
Rules and scoring
- Side-lane cancel tolerance: within one lane distance of torque or 10 percent of the larger torque. Centre lane: top value within 1 of the dropped value.
- Cancel score is both values, doubled if exact, times the chain multiplier (1x to 4x, rising every 3 chained cancels), plus 15 for an exact. A plain drop scores 1 and resets the chain.
- Gold weights appear after 10 drops, at most every 12, and clear the heavier side for 30 plus the cleared total.
- Each lane holds 8 weights. Level rises every 20 drops up to 8. Beyond 25 degrees a weight slides off every 0.85 seconds; 40 degrees ends the run.
Tips to score higher
- Use the centre lane as parking. It adds no torque, and a spare value can wait there for a partner within 1.
- Think in torque. A 6 on an inner lane equals a 3 on an outer lane.
- The generator echoes a top-of-stack value 40 percent of the time; a repeated number means an exact cancel is waiting.
- A plain drop that levels the beam often beats a near-cancel that leaves a big moment behind.
- Save gold for when one side is clearly loaded.
- The daily mission counts cancels: 15 in a day pays 60 coins.
Modes and challenges
- Single endless run with speed levels 1 to 8.
- Daily mission: cancel 15 weights across any runs for 60 coins.
- Ad-unlocked weight skins, end-of-run coins of 20 to 60, and one ad continue.
Frequently asked questions
Why did close numbers not cancel?
Cancels compare torque, value times lane distance. A 5 on an outer lane is torque 10 and will not cancel a 5 on an inner lane. Follow the glowing lane.
What does the centre lane do?
It never tilts the beam. Weights there cancel each other when the dropped value is within 1 of the top.
What is the gold weight?
A rare valueless weight. Drop it anywhere and it clears the heavier side, scoring 30 plus the cleared values.
Why did weights fall off by themselves?
Past 25 degrees the low side sheds its tallest stack one weight at a time. Recovering under 20 degrees counts as a save.
